Introducing Grandia Online v4 - yukiXalfina
Hey everyone,
check out the new amazing design. I hope you enjoy it. Not only is it a new design but I changed all the links to better the site with SEO (Search Engine Optimization), so instead of grandia2_characters.php the pages are like grandia-2/characters.php
I also fixed up a lot of the old coding, etc.. and I also added some cool interactive features or games. You can now play Tic-Tac-Toe with Alonso and Miranda from Grandia III, as well as Ask Ryudo (from Grandia 2) a Question about anything you want. There is also a game for Snake and Hangman; however they don't interact with any Grandia characters. I also added a little javascript that allows you to play Guess My Number. When you play it, you guess a number (obviously) and then it tells you if the number is higher or lower or if you are correct. So go try out these new things.
Still our Poll Script is broke, so the Poll Booth and Character Battles are still down, but I will get them up shortly. Also I threw away Cutenews and now our News is pulled from our forum, so be sure to join it so that you can interact with our other visitors and members, and also be able to comment on the news posts.
Since I did change of the links to the pages there might be some broken pages, but for the most part I think I have it all fixed and running smoothly. But if you do encounter a broken link/page please report it to me via the contact page. Also, as always I am looking for a couple more affiliates so if you own a site don't hesitate to try to affiliate.
Well I think thats about all, so hope you enjoy it.
GungHo Sells Off Grandia Online
GungHo Online Entertainment has sold off its PC-based MMORPG Grandia Online (also known as Grandia Zero) to Online Game Revolution (OGR) Fund Number 1 for 2.6 billion yen ($22.96 million USD). Subject of this agreement are only the copyright and the domestic and international distribution rights to Grandia Online. The rights to the Grandia (series) remain with GungHo subsidiary GameArts. No decision has been made as to whether GungHo Works will continue the game's development and operation.
GungHo and GameArts originally announced Grandia Online three years ago. Since then the development of the game has been transferred from GameArts to GungHo. Earlier this year, the game received a new title, Grandia Zero, and release date, sometime this year. However, instead of announcing a delay, GungHo yesterday revealed the game's sale to OGR Fund Number 1. The company cited the strengthening of both its consumer game business and financial structure as reasons for Grandia Online's sale. Following its sale, the game will now be called Grandia Online again. Its release date is listed as "to be announced."
Online Game Revolution Fund Number 1 was established by Movida Investment in December 2005. It provides capital and various services to companies interested in developing online games.

Grandia Online the game is now called Grandia Zero
Back in September GameArts, along with GungHo made an announcement at the TGS that Grandia Online, the MMORPG they are developing has been renamed to Grandia Zero. The title suggests what we have believed all along, that Grandia Zero will be a prequel to the current Grandia series.

GungoHo to Establish North American Subsidiary
GungHo, the producer of GRANDIA ONLINE, the up-coming online version of the GRANDIA series, recognizes that entry into the US gaming market, which is growing robustly, will be an important strategy move for global business development. So in order to implement aggressive sales promotion for the overseas marketing of their titles, including original titles, they have decided to establish a subsidiary in the North American region.
GungHo Online Entertainment, Inc. recently stated that they intend to develop the GRANDIA ONLINE title for commercial use in North America. In addition to online gaming, their strategy for North America includes boosting GungHo's presence in the consumer games market.
That's good news for us, because that revives the hope that GRANDIA ONLINE will actually be released. As well as it also states they plan to release it in North America. So that changes my thoughts of it being only in Japan.
Minor Edits and Contact Form
I've done some minor edits around the site, fixing a few spelling errors, etc. I also cleaned up the sites navigation by removing some of the links to non-existent pages. I still need to fix our poll script for the poll booth and character battles however. I also removed several links from the fanlisting section in the navigation because they either shutdown or are on hiatus. If they return I will re-add them. I also found and joined two new fanlistings, so if you are a fan be sure to join them.
Oh and I also finally got around to adding a contact form to the site. So that it makes it easier for you all to contact me if you need to. Still no news of a Grandia IV or any updates on the situation of the game Grandia Online. Stay tuned, if I here anything I'll let you know!
Once again Grandia Online is delayed
Gung-Ho has stated their main efforts have been towards Ragnarok Online 2 and therefore once again we see a delay in Grandia Online. The prospected service start of Grandia Online has now went from a vague 2007 to unknown. Also the previous statement of the operating system being Windows XP has now been changed to unknown, as well as the estimated cost of the game has changed to unknown. While the game hasn't been canceled completely, it does appear to be having some serious development issues, which Gung-Ho have stated is 'A matter of concern'.
I fear we may never see a Grandia Online....
Gung-Ho takes a second look at Grandia Online
There is still no current estimated release date for any region. However the president of Gung-Ho Games Entertainment has revealed some interesting facts about the development of Grandia Online in a recent interview. Previously Game Arts was in control of the game's creation, but both the game and it's development resources have been moved to Gung-Ho.
Gung-Ho has decided the graphical quality of the game is in need of revision, and when the public finally gets a new preview it should look quite different from that of the footage shown at the Tokyo Game Show in 2005. As to which console the game shall be for, it's still up in the air. Gung-Ho hasn't ruled out any possibility so far. Though fans seem to think the Playstation 3 is the most likely candidate for such as release.
