After having played Grandia II, beating it, and deciding that it was my favorite RPG I have played I decided to open up a Grandia fansite. I had already been running a successful fansite that covers mainly the Final Fantasy series so I was sure that I could do well with a Grandia fansite, especially considering there really isn't that many around!

So on October 12, 2005 I opened Grandia Online to the public, but we only had two or three pages of content. People seemed to really enjoy the site as our hits grew to over 100 pretty rapidly. But with the hosting problems, and everything we kept moving around. With that happening, our rankings in search engines kept dropping. On December 18, 2005 I had moved out of my mom's house and went to live with my dad. When that happened, I had no internet and thus Grandia Online eventually died. Our hosting died along with it. So with our domain gone, our old hosting gone, and all our visitors not knowing we still exist, we had but only one option.

In April when I got my internet back, I put Grandia Online files that I had on my computer up, and placed Grandia Online on hiatus until I could begin working on it once more. Then on July 1, 2006 Grandia Online was on the verge of being re-opened finally and with a new layout, and even more content. With it open once again, our visitor count sky rocketed to nearly 1,000 visitors a day. However, once again my laziness and lack of time got the best of me, and therefore Grandia Online soon went into over a year of nearly complete inactivity besides a couple news posts. Later, around fall of 2007 there was a little more content put up, though mostly just code fixes, etc...

Now here it is late February 2008, and I've finally updated Grandia Online with a new web layout and moved all the pages to better the site with SEO (Search Engine Optimization). With that I had to pretty much fix up the coding of every page once again, and well what you see currently is the result. Below you can see our previous layouts we have had throughout our history.

Version 1 - Grandia Online
Description: Grandia Online's very first layout. It was nice and I really enjoyed it. But I felt everything didn't really go well and so I decided to redo it and our result was Version 2. It may later be released for public download as linkware, but I haven't decided on it yet. As you can tell though it featured Grandia II.
Version 2 - GO.revision
Description: A re-coloring of the first one with a better feel to it, as well as it was recoded to better fit the standards of it's time. In the end though I felt the text was too soft of color that everthing seemed to blend to well and therefore it was sometimes hard to read some of the stuff. Overall though it was an improvement to the first. It may later be released for public download as linkware, but I haven't decided on it yet.
Version 3 - Symplicity
Description: Brand new design this go around. I was still getting the hang of designing layouts as well so it was during my more simple designs period. Overall I really liked the color theme, though perhaps it was a little too much of it, lol. Well I do hope you enjoyed it, as we used it for almost 18 months I do believe. The color scheme was used in version 4 as well, though with some other colors too.
Version 4 - yukiXalfina
Description: After around 18 months of version 3 I was tired of it, and therefore designed version 4. When designing this layout I tried to keep the color scheme of the previous layout in mind, but I also didn't want to overuse it so I introduced some other colors such as gray, white, and black. I also tried to do more of a web2.0 feel with this design. Overall I'm rather pleased with the design myself. What do you think?
